UNWTO Honors Qatar Tourism Excellence and Innovation
The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) recently partnered with Qatar Tourism to celebrate leading businesses and individuals advancing the country’s tourism sector.
The inaugural Qatar Tourism Awards honored outstanding contributions across three main categories – Service Excellence, Cultural Experiences, and Smart Solutions. A surprise Community Contribution Award was also introduced to recognize exceptional hospitality from local community members.
Winners across the diverse tourism, hospitality and destination sectors were announced at a ceremony in Doha. Basmah Al-Mayman, UNWTO’s Regional Director for the Middle East, and Qatar Tourism Chairman Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji attended the event.
The recipients reflected those driving innovation and sustainability to align with UNWTO’s vision for the future of tourism. From enriching cultural experiences to smart tech solutions, the awards spotlighted Qatar’s most impressive tourism developments.
For example, the Service Excellence category saw Lusail Marina honored for its world-class yachting facilities and amenities. The Cultural Experiences award went to Master Tailors Qatar for preserving the art of bespoke couture with made-to-measure garments.
