Exclusive 3-Book Set Inspires Young Readers to Explore the Careers of Their Dreams
HAVERFORD, Pa., Nov. 6, 2026 — The role literacy plays in a child's future success cannot be overstated, according to youth career-advocate Ellen Langas, author of the Girls Know How® book series. An exclusive three-book set will be sold on QVC.com during National Young Readers Week, Monday, November 9 through Friday, November 13 to encourage childhood literacy and highlight the importance of books for children. The award-winning series, which launched nationally in 2009, offers a fun and entertaining way to inspire young readers (ages 7 – 12) to explore career opportunities and access the tools, attitudes and information that can help them reach their full potentials.
The exclusive three chapter-book set features Raising the Roof, a book focusing on construction, Smart Alex, which explores the teaching profession and Super Science Girls!, hand-signed by the author, which introduces STEM careers. Each paperback features more than 120 pages, original color cover artwork, a bio of a successful woman in her field, and free career exploration activities in the back of the book and online at GirlsKnowHow.com. An online "Classroom Corner" provides study guides for each book.
"We hope to inspire children to read and to follow their dreams by exposing them to a variety of careers, exceptional role models and fictional characters who might be just like them," says Langas. "In addition to helping children imagine what they can become, it's important that we build an inclusive culture and experience, especially for girls, and eliminate preconceived notions of what they can or cannot achieve. Girls Know How books help create a community that gives children the tools, support, and inspiration they need to achieve their unique goals."
Girls Know How has donated more than 4000 books to not-for-profit organizations including Girl Scouts of the USA, Girls Inc., Big Brothers and Sisters, Girls Exploring Technology Today, and Habitat for Humanity.
