The blockbuster agreements bolster Emirates’ fleet plans through 2035. The airline already operates the world’s largest Boeing 777 fleet, including cargo models. This new order brings its total 777X commitment to 205 aircraft.

Emirates will take delivery of its first next-generation 777-9 in 2025, with inductions continuing over the next decade. It also becomes one of the 777-8 launch customers, with first aircraft arriving in 2030.

Additionally, Emirates boosted its 787 Dreamliner purchase to 35 units by upsizing the 787-10 component and adding 787-8 models. The airline currently flies over 140 widebodies on routes connecting its Dubai hub to six continents.

According to Emirates Chairman Sheikh Ahmed, the new jets will support expansion to 400 more global destinations in line with Dubai’s economic targets. He stated that by the early 2030s, Emirates expects to operate around 350 aircraft linking countless cities worldwide.

Boeing hailed the sale as a resounding vote of confidence in its 777X and 787 programs. Emirates’ ongoing fleet modernization relies on new generation widebodies with efficiency and passenger comfort advantages.

The monumental Dubai Airshow order ensures Emirates maintains its title as the world’s largest 777 and A380 operator. It also demonstrates Emirates’ appetite for growth as the airline charts its post-pandemic course.
