Alaska Airlines is whisking travelers away to island paradise with two new nonstop routes from the West Coast hubs of Los Angeles and Seattle straight to sunny Nassau in The Bahamas.

As one of the top leisure destinations for West Coasters craving a quick tropical escape, flight frequencies to The Bahamas just doubled thanks to Alaska’s new direct linkstouching down at Lynden Pindling International Airport. With the new nonstop options slashing previous multi-leg journeys in half, travelers can now be basking beachside with umbrella cocktails in hand faster.

“We have seen strong and consistent demand for service to The Bahamas from the west coast,” said Brett Catlin, Alaska Airlines’ vice president of network and alliances. “Whether our guests are seeking a relaxing vacation, an action-packed adventure or a little bit of everything, these new routes make getting to The Bahamas easier than ever.”

Alaska joins major East Coast hubs with existing Bahamas connections by being the first airline to provide nonstop flights from both Los Angeles and Seattle. Departing three days a week from each city on Boeing 737 aircraft, the routes shipped their first planeloads of eager vacationers to the ultimate island escape in late December.

As travelers soak up the good vibes and easy island pace after swift five-hour treks from the West Coast, new generations of adventures await on 700 secluded Bahamian islands and cays. Divers can ogle shipwrecks and technicolor reefs off the Out Islands, outdoor lovers can embark on ecotours to uninhabited national parks, foodies indulge in tropical culinary fusions, and culture mavens explore the storied local heritage.

With Alaska providing the fastest connections west of the Rockies, try the nonstop flights unlocking the dreams of Caribbean paradise faster and more affordably than ever.
